What if all children grew up with their own books at home?
Did you have a favorite book as a child? Perhaps a shelf full of choices for a bedtime story? Memories of books you read over and over? If you answered yes, you are in a lucky minority.
Right here in Potter and Randall County, only about 1 in 5 children owns at least 20 books of their own. Research indicates that kids who grow up with 20 books at home achieve 3 years more education than their peers without books in their home.
Storybridge is a nonprofit organization committed to help change the story for our local kids by investing in their access to literacy as early as possible.
OUR MISSION: TO ENSURE THAT EVERY CHILD IN THE AMARILLO AREA OWNS AT LEAST 20 HIGH-QUALITY BOOKS AT HOME, ENTERS KINDERGARTEN READY TO LEARN TO READ, AND UNLOCKS ALL THE BENEFITS OF LITERACY.
Help Storybridge continue to bring the magic of literacy to the children in our community through these amazing programs:
- Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
- Kinderbridge
- Summer Storytime
- Free Book Fairs & Book Trailer Visits
